Nik's Journal Grrrrr I'm so frikkin sick of being asked to idenify myself by my race/ethnicity-not only because it's "complicated". And yeah, I know, claiming my "right" to being part of a "victim" group gets me perks and advantages. But my race/ethnicity has NOTHING to do with who/what I am, I do what I do and stand by it; I make my OWN way. And it seriously pisses me off that it's just assumed I've benefitted from affirmative action and/or that I NEEDED it. And fuck the hyphen thing, too. Or in my case, hyphenS I guess. End vent :) Barry's first 100 days is being hailed by his sycophants in the media. It nauseates and disgusts me; it scares me because what he's "accomplished" in those 100 days threatens MY country. The occupant of the White House is using Chicago rules to transform America into something else--something in which personal liberty doesn't exist and failure is applauded as success: something like Michigan? Califormia? Venezuela??? Yes, he HAS moved quickly to create "change"; change that ignores the Constitutution (which was expected since he thinks it's "fatally flawed") and seeks to increase his own power by undermining everything that empowers THE PEOPLE. Bowing to dictators, hugging enemies, disrespecting/insulting allies are just a few clues to what this person intends for our country (not HIS country because he hates what it IS and wants to remake it via a "new foundation"). This person wants to go to war against our own intel people while failing to fight the war against our enemies; and by "our" I mean enemies of the vast majority of the people of the US, not of Barry and his minions for whom WE are the enemy. Imagine what an avowed enemy of America might do if put in a position of power, if allowed to occupy the White House. What would he/she do differently from what the current occupant of the White House is doing? If the goal is to undermine/destroy/defeat America, Barry is making all the right moves. George Soros must be SO proud of his creation! Who'd have thunk it would be so easy to destroy the American economy? Eastern European countries are one thing, but the United States??? Wow, how sad. 100 days and we're well on our way to destroying a great country. By the time people wake up and try to push back it will probably be too late to do so by political means. Credit to Car for the whole "occupant of the WH" thing :) Happy Birthday I'd say things like "celebrate"! "have a great day" "party hardy"!! But it goes without saying that you'll do ALL of those. And will be massively feted here/there, now/then by loads of the coolest, smartest, best looking people on earth. I hope I'll be invited to at least some of those awesome events.... :))) Gary Graham totally speaks for me. And I have no doubt AG Eric Holder (and probably his boss, Barry HO) would consider me a racist coward. Well, unless Holder/Obama buy the racist notion that people of color can't be racist.... I hear Eric Holder’s words and I get a chill up my spine. It doesn’t sound like freedom from racism to me. It sounds like reverse racism. It smacks of concepts like “reparations”…”affirmative action” (code for racial preferences)…and “get-even-with-‘em”… So, Mr. Holder, what can I infer from your words…but a tacit warning? This, Mr. Attorney General…this is what you want to stir up? You should be ecstatic for the ultimate affirmative action as reflected on November 4th. White guilt to a very large extent enabled a charming but inexperienced young socialist to assume the reins of the most powerful nation in the world. And still we are cowards because we don’t talk about race enough? ...Our former leader, President George W. Bush, in one of his more articulate moments, exhorted us to “…challenge the soft bigotry of low expectations.” But you, Mr. Holder, and those who share your views, are the ones who perpetrate racism in America - by never shutting up about it! Yes, we Americans are proud of our ‘melting pot’ - we are proud of our national motto, E Pluribus Unum, “out of many, one”. We are proud of the idea of America, the most brilliant and good and moral proposition ever submitted to the human race: That all people can assemble in this one nation, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, creed…all men and women can come here and be free. We can pursue our dreams to the utmost and are free to enjoy the fruits of our efforts and talent and determination, unimpeded by coercion or kings. We’re not white Americans, or black Americans, or Hispanic Americans… We’re Americans. Thanks to Joseph Lowery: “We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right” Me: Thank you, Dr Lowery, for all your work back in the day; but FUCK YOU for your obtuse racism today! The election to the effing PRESIDENCY OF THE UNTIED STATES (by a majority of white people, btw) of a man who has pretty much NOTHING to recommend him *except* his race means there can be no more whining and excuses, no more shielding the faults of failed black folks with fingers pointing at "racists". The time for BULLSHIT accusations is OVER. With all due respect, Dr. Lowery, you are part of the problem now. I'm embarrassed FOR you--as well as furious AT you. A study by scientists at Johns Hopkins University suggests that by the year 2015, 75% of Americans will be overweight, almost half of those will be obese. This means (assuming I don't pork up insanely over the next 8 years) that I will then FOUR times eligible for "minority" (aka: victim) status. Go me! Obviously the majority will discriminate against the minority. I mean, that's what they always do, right? And the "victims" of the "discrimination" have to demand their rights--otherwise life isn't "fair". I've been getting multiple emails EVERY FREAKIN DAY from the Edwards campaign ever since I sent that snarky note to his heinous bitch wife when they invited "the public" to send her personal messages. I haven't tagged their crap spam because I'm fascinated (and nauseated) by the tone of their communications. What they write is so emotional, such soap opera style bullshit, such obvious pandering to people who have a hard time actually thinking and would rather just react to what some asshole tells them is the truth--or to the asshole himself. As you'd imagine about a campaign for a man who has nothing to offeer professionally, his handlers often write personal garabage about the hypocritical, self-interested, slimy ambulance chasing creep. The truly SAD thing is--this seems to work. There actually ARE a lot of people stupid enough to accept/buy into crap like this: Dear Nik, It was nearly 54 years ago when my husband Wallace borrowed $50 to bring me and our new born boy home from the hospital back in Seneca, South Carolina. Today, a lot of people know John as an advocate, a senator, and maybe even as the next president. But Wallace and I will always know him simply as our son. Next Sunday, June 10th, is our son John's birthday, and I'd like to ask you to help celebrate with us. Nothing would make John happier on his birthday than seeing how many people share his vision for this country and are ready to lend a hand. We know everyone can't give a lot. But it's not about how much, it's about how many. If every one of us gives just $6.10 to John's campaign before 6/10, we can do so much together for this country. Let's make John's birthday a celebration for America. Please add your $6.10 today: www.johnedwards.com/birthday/pie And what's a birthday celebration without dessert? If you're able to give $6.10 to the campaign before 6/10 I'll send you a copy of my old family recipe for pecan pie—it's quite a favorite around here. I wish I could make enough pie to thank everyone who supports my son. But the next best thing is to send you my secret recipe and hope that on June 10th we can both enjoy a slice. Thank you, --Bobbie Edwards Robbins, North Carolina I wonder if they get to say I'm a "supporter" because I'm on the mailing list? What could possibly be better than having Carly my mother? :)
Thanks to Thomas Sowell for a new and most appropriate way of referring to Jesse Jackson: "The inevitable" Jesse Jackson. Perfect way to characterize this person who appears, as if by magic, whereever the race card can be played. And thanks to Mike Adams for this new definition of "racism": Racism is best defined as a pathological tendency to interject race into situations where it is not relevant. Those two dovetail very nicely, don't you think? |
